The "Let's Count Money" placemat can be a useful tool to learn how to make calculations with money. It is great as a gift, homework helper, teacher resource, homeschool aid, or an activity taken along for traveling. This placemat is laminated with a thick, firm surface that won't curl up on the edges and will last for years. The corners are rounded for safety, and it is made in the USA. It measures 11½ x 17½ inches. The front of the placemat features a graphic display showing the various combinations of coins and/or currency that could be used to make up each basic unit of currency. An example being that a dime could also be 10 pennies or two nickels. On the back side, the challenge is to come up with the correct answer to a series of graphical puzzles that add or subtract various amounts of coins and currency. The ultimate object being to learn how to make change. It may be written on with many wipe-off markers and crayons (see category Crayons and Markers). The placemat easily wipes clean for use over and over again. From Edumat.
